Yuhu Cold Chain Empowers Agricultural Exports to Secure a Leading Global Supply Chain Position

Against the backdrop of profound restructuring in global supply chains and China’s policy drive toward high-quality agricultural development, the “going global” initiative for Chinese agricultural products is entering a critical transitional phase, shifting from pure scale expansion to quality-driven breakthroughs. In this process, the government is taking a leading role in policy support and resource integration, while also engaging platform enterprises with strong resources and capabilities to jointly build platforms and facilitate trade. Initiatives such as training programs and matchmaking events designed to boost the import and export of agricultural products are being steadily implemented. As an innovative supply chain leader, Yuhu Cold Chain is actively providing multi-dimensional support to the government, deeply facilitating the international distribution of high-quality domestic agricultural products. By helping overcome trade barriers and strengthen market access, Yuhu is positioning these products to compete strategically in the global food supply chain.

Government and Enterprises Create Opportunities to Precisely Address “Pain Points” in Global Expansion

Guangzhou Training Seminar on Import-Export Trade and Supply-to-Hong-Kong Operations for Agricultural Products was successfully held on September 5 at the Yuhu Cold Chain (Guangzhou) Trading Center. The event was organized by the Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Guangzhou Municipality and co-hosted by the Guangzhou Agricultural Leading Enterprises Association and Yuhu Cold Chain, aiming to provide timely support for local agribusinesses.

Senior officials from various departments of the Bureau, including Rural Industries, Exchange and Cooperation, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary and Slaughter Management, Marine Law Enforcement Squad, Seed Management, and Crop Farming, attended the session. Also present were Zou Yanping, Executive Vice Secretary-General of the Guangzhou Agricultural Leading Enterprises Association, along with numerous representatives from agricultural enterprises.

The subsequent training session featured two intensive thematic courses designed to deliver practical value: first, “New Trends and Practical Operations in International Agricultural Trade,” aimed at helping enterprises grasp industry dynamics and master operational skills; and second, an in-depth interpretation of “Policies, Procedures, and Standards for Supplying Agricultural Products to Hong Kong,” providing clear guidance for businesses seeking access to the Hong Kong market.

Leveraging the extensive practical experience and insights into the latest industry trends, Holly Huang, Executive Director of Yuhu Group Hong Kong, delivered a comprehensive guide on international agricultural trade and supply-to-Hong Kong operations, equipping enterprises with cutting-edge knowledge and impactful strategies. During the session focusing on international trade practices, she analyzed the 2024–2025 export market landscape using detailed customs data, highlighting growth opportunities in emerging markets such as Southeast Asia, Japan, South Korea, and the European Union. She emphasized the need for companies to build three core competitive advantages: branding, compliance, and storytelling, noting that the era of competing solely on price has ended. To avoid the pitfalls of “having products without brands or registrations without orders,” businesses must deeply understand the cultural preferences and regulatory requirements of their target markets. In the segment dedicated to Hong Kong supply operations, she provided a detailed walkthrough of the end-to-end export process, covering critical steps including enterprise registration, inspection, and quarantine procedures. Given Hong Kong's stringent food safety standards, she highlighted the “HKQAA Hong Kong Registration – Food Supply to Hong Kong Scheme”, launched by Yuhu Cold Chain in collaboration with the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency (HKQAA) in May this year, as a practical and implementable solution for enterprises. She further emphasized that Yuhu Cold Chain serves not only as a professional logistics provider but also as a “partner-style enabler” for companies expanding globally. Introducing its innovative multi-service model, she explained how the online “Jade Premium” selection platform enables efficient and precise connections between global buyers and source manufacturers, while offline channels—such as global exhibition partnerships and pop-up store market testing in Hong Kong, helping enterprises validate demand with minimal investment. This online-offline integrated strategy allows businesses to access global orders seamlessly without large-scale upfront commitments.

Kaydon Zhuang, Business Manager of the International Cooperation Department at Yuhu Group Hong Kong, delivered a session focused on “Policies, Procedures, and Standards for Supplying Agricultural Products to Hong Kong.” She provided an in-depth yet accessible explanation of key processes and compliance requirements, using practical case studies to give enterprise representatives a clear understanding of market access conditions and operational procedures for the Hong Kong market. Her sharing offered actionable guidance for businesses seeking to expand into the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

“Aspiring to engage in Hong Kong supply business has long been our goal, but our limited understanding of the processes and standards made us hesitant to take the leap. The training and certification program provided by Yuhu Cold Chain has given us the confidence we needed,” shared a representative from an agricultural enterprise in attendance. With this “quality permit,” the company plans to commence preparations next month for its first batch of agricultural products destined for Hong Kong.

In addition to theoretical knowledge, the training featured dedicated sessions for enterprise presentations and interactive exchanges. Representatives from Guangzhou Kwangfeng Industrial Co., Ltd. and the Guangzhou Nansha Prepared Dish Industry Association shared valuable insights from their experiences in agricultural product import-export and industrial development, offering success stories for other enterprises to reference. During the interactive session, participants actively posed questions and engaged in in-depth discussions with expert speakers regarding challenges encountered in their business expansion efforts. The lively atmosphere fostered productive dialogue throughout the event. The training received highly positive feedback, with 28 participating enterprises expressing preliminary intentions to collaborate with Yuhu Cold Chain through this platform and seeking further engagement opportunities.
